He wants to stop the persecution of a philosopher who has dared to suggest that, contrary to the Church's dogma, the Discworld really does go through space on the back of an enormous turtle. He wants to overthrow a huge and corrupt church. His god has spoken to him, admittedly while currently in the shape of a tortoise. The spine of the dustwrapper has faded to blue due to exposure to sunlight, but the front and back panels remain unfaded and bright. Extremities of dustwrapper slightly rubbed and creased, mainly at the head and tail of the spine. ***In a very good colour-illustrated dustwrapper. Internally also very good with no inscriptions. ***Very good in light brown cloth-covered boards with gilt titles to the spine. Attractive wraparound colour-illustrated jacket illustration by Josh Kirby. The Victor Gollancz true first edition and first BCA edition were both published in 1992. Third printing of the BCA edition, published in 1994.
